Where do you currently work?
I currently work at an event and video production company called Twofold Fusion, Inc.
What is a typical day for you at work?
A typical day for me at work is usually the standard 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day of the week. Depending on the day, I will either spend it at our office/studio in West Dallas editing videos or on location for a video shoot or event. I love being able to edit videos but nothing beats going to a location to film something.
If you could describe your experience in the Bob Schieffer College of Communication in three words, what would they be?
Encouraging. Dynamic. Informative.
What is the best piece of advice you received as an undergraduate while being in the Bob Schieffer College of Communication?
The best piece of advice I received as an undergraduate was from an older TCU graduate who told me not to stress out during my job search. She warned me that the process might get tedious and long but reassured me that it will end with a job. For some, the process is quick because they were recruited, and for others it could take a month or two of waiting until an employer contacts them for an interview. There is no standard timeline for this process. That reassurance helped me be present and enjoy the little time I had left before graduating and entering the “real world.”
Do you agree with the advice you received? Would you change it at all?
Looking back, I wouldn’t change anything about how I approached the job search or the advice given to me. She was right when she said I would find the right job. The amount of responsibility you carry will only grow after you graduate from college.
