Where do you currently work?

I am currently an account executive at Droese Public Relations in Dallas, Texas. We are a luxury lifestyle agency with local and national clients.

What is a typical day for you at work?

There are no typical days. I always arrive in the morning and work on emails with clients. We have conference calls and meetings throughout the day. We also do a lot of events, so I am out of the office for those. I normally work from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., but when we have events, I work until about 9 p.m. We write press releases, pitch ideas to clients and so many other things, it would be hard to list them all.

If you could describe your experience in the Bob Schieffer College of Communication in three words, what would they be?

Fun. Educational. Creative.

What is the best piece of advice you received as an undergraduate while being in the Bob Schieffer College of Communication?

I don’t think there was one specific piece of advice I received over four years that I can say was “the best.” I think overall, being a part of the Bob Schieffer College of Communication taught me to try new things and to not give up. I loved learning new things and am so thankful I was able to take many different classes while there.

Do you agree with the advice you received? Would you change it at all?

Yes, try everything. I was an Advertising/Public Relations major, but I am currently working in public relations. At my job, I can speak about advertising, media planning, etc. to my clients and co-workers all thanks to the classes I took at TCU!
