Surveys have shown that the ability to speak effectively, to listen carefully and to write clearly are the first, second and fourth most important factors in hiring decisions.

In the communication studies program, nationally recognized specialists in interpersonal and organizational communication will teach you how to build a foundation for success in any number of careers. You’ll learn how to form more rewarding relationships both professionally and personally. Many of our students go on to pursue a master’s degree or Ph.D.

In our master’s program, emphases include interpersonal and family communication; organizational communication; and health communication. Our graduates continue on to Ph.D. programs or take advantage of professional opportunities in a wide variety of industries.

If you’re curious how brands earn attention, build trust and drive results, TCU’s strategic communication program will teach you the tools of advertising and public relations. Learn how to conduct and use research, craft messages and create content to connect with audiences, choose media strategically and evaluate the effectiveness of campaigns.

Outside of the classroom, sharpen your skills through internships with local agencies, companies and nonprofits. You can also compete in national advertising and public relations annual competitions.
