The application timeframe and cost for the program have changed.
Applications for the Certified Public Communicator® Program at TCU are open through Dec. 31, 2026, for Summer 2027 admission.
CPC Board Members will review all applications in January 2027, with decisions announced Feb. 1, 2027. Admitted students will have one month to register and arrange payment.
Cost: $4,000
Dates: July 18-23, 2027
Cohorts usually include 25-28 students. This small program allows students to build connections with faculty and create a network with fellow professionals gain, including their own cohort, as well as those ahead and behind them, too.
As of 2026, the program has graduated more than 300 professionals from 13 cohorts.
Application process
The process includes these elements:
- A letter of recommendation from the applicant’s supervisor to demonstrate that the public communicator had support for the program and its requirements in the workplace;
- A completed application form that includes
- A statement of interest from the applicant, to ascertain that the applicant understands the rigors of the program and plan-writing;
- A statement from the applicant affirming they have 1) worked in the public sector for at least three years before the application is submitted and 2) have earned a bachelor’s degree;
- Candidate’s resume
- A requirement that the applicant must work in a public sector, non-partisan job that receives compensation from a single public-sector entity such as municipal government (city or county), school district, or public-serving agency such as a water district, county hospital, community college district, or similar public-sector entity.
