Kivi Leroux Miller to keynote at TCU Nonprofit Communicators Conference 2013

The TCU Nonprofit Communicators Conference will celebrate its fifth annual gathering on Friday, May 17, with Kivi Leroux Miller as the keynoter. The conference is organized by the Schieffer School of Journalism, and Miller’s appearance is sponsored by the Community Foundation of North Texas. Miller’s keynote will focus on effective ways for nonprofit organizations to share their impact, and she’ll also conduct a workshop titled “Creating Your Donor Communication Plan. “It’s important for nonprofits to tell their stories and to highlight their impact on our community,” said TCU strategic communication professor Jacqueline Lambiase, a founder and organizer of the conference. “Excellent communication strategies increase effectiveness by helping a nonprofit attract more resources, funds and volunteers.” Miller is the president of Nonprofit Marketing Guide.com and EcoScribe Communications. She serves as a trainer, coach and consultant for small nonprofits nationwide and teaches a weekly webinar series that has reached more than 3,000 nonprofits in more than 30 countries. Since 2009, the TCU Nonprofit Communicators Conference has provided workshops, panels, and networking opportunities for nonprofit professionals across North Texas. This year’s conference features nonprofit professionals and TCU strategic communication faculty who will discuss best practices for creating video, communicating to women, social media policies, relationship building, communicating during organizational change, and creative content ideas. Nancy Jones, president of the Community Foundation of North Texas, will introduce Miller at the luncheon, as well as participate in a session. Registration is just $35 for the daylong conference and includes lunch.
