Rusak graduated with a B.A. in communication with a journalism emphasis from the University of Texas at Arlington. During her nearly 20 years at the Dallas Morning News, she wrote and edited, launched social media accounts in their earliest days and managed a team running DallasNews.com. After a brief stint at an internal communications agency, she joined TCU in March 2020.
