Areas of Focus

Dr. Onyebadi’s areas of expertise include political communication, and media and politics; international communication; and mass communication theory.

Prior to his arrival at TCU, Dr. Onyebadi served as the director of the School of Journalism at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale. His experience also includes works as a Fulbright Specialist at BRAC University in Dhaka, Bangladesh; work as a guest editor of a special issue of the International Communication Research Journal (ICRJ), a publication of the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC); and work as a sports presenter and commentator on radio and television in Kenya. Dr. Onyebadi’s journalism career began at Vanguard newspaper in Nigeria.
