What’s in your pack?

A drumstick may not be a usual item in most students’ backpacks, but for David Brennan ’17 the stick is a focal point in his bag. “My roommate surprised me with tickets to a Bastille concert in Colorado for my birthday,” Brennan said. “We got front row tickets, and Bastille threw this drumstick to me.”

The Strategic Communication major, originally from Naperville, Ill., also carried at least three sketchbooks at one time. One was used as a planner, one was used to jot down random thoughts and several were for class work, as Brennan was a graphic design minor.

As for his favorite classes spring semester of 2017, Brennan enjoyed his Typography II course and was a member of the National Student Advertising Competition team, a capstone course for Strategic Communication majors. Brennan served as a graphic designer for the team.

Brennan’s days were very busy, and he preferred to carry everything he needed in his backpack. Brennan said, “I walk to class so I don’t like to walk back to my house throughout the day.”
