The Class of 2019: Katey Rose Palella

Name: Katey Rose Palella
Major: Strategic Communication
Hometown: Lake Forest, Illinois

Katey Pallela was a strategic communication major and a business minor at TCU. Katey came from Lake Forest, Illinois, and attended Lake Forest High School where she was a varsity cheerleader all four years. After deciding on a school totally different from the rest of her family (who went to college in Michigan), Katey moved to TCU in Fort Worth.

After two years of studying at TCU, Katey decided to follow the strategic communication program to London. It was an amazing opportunity for her to not only leave the country for the first time but also meet new people from the major. She originally started TCU as a pre-business major but quickly realized that it was not the right fit for her career goals. “It was the smartest decision I could have made for myself at the time,” she said.

Katey has started the next chapter in her life as a business-to-business sales associate for AT&T. She will remain in the Texas area that she has called home for four years while also getting to experience a new city, Dallas.

She has been preparing for this job throughout college with internships at TCU Ad Lab, selling advertising space for TCU Magazine and the Skiff, which are student-run media platforms based in Moudy South. She also had the opportunity to work as an intern for one of the top logistics firms in the nation, Coyote Logistics in Chicago. Moving forward, Katey hopes to climb the ranks of AT&T and remain in Dallas after completing her training program. When asked what her next goal is, she says, “it’s time to get my master’s.”
