Class of 2021: Getting to know A.D. Bigot

Name: A.D. Bigot
Hometown: Wichita Falls, Texas
Major: Strategic Communication

Why did you choose Texas Christian University?
I chose TCU because it was only an hour and a half from home. I wanted to be away at school but close enough to see my family on occasion

Why strategic communication?
I started as a business major but didn’t enjoy the accounting and analytics, so I switched to strategic communication knowing that it had more advertising and public relations courses.

As a strategic communication major what has been your favorite class?
Design with professor Broc Sears. One of my hobbies is taking pictures, so learning Photoshop and InDesign has helped me with a variety of projects both in and outside of school.

What has been your favorite project?
My favorite project, even though it was semester-long, was definitely my Tesla research project in my Research class with Dr. Jong-Hyuok Jung. It mimicked a reallife experience. I felt as if Tesla was my actual client. We worked long hours to produce this project. It’s a great portfolio piece too, and has impressed many people during internship interviews.

Have you studied abroad?
I studied abroad in Barcelona and Paris, as part of the Global Business Perspectives Program and I highly recommend it. It was a lot of fun getting to see different countries and learn new cultures.

What else are you involved in at TCU?
I am in a fraternity, which is a great way to meet friends, especially not knowing many people and coming from a smaller town. I am also in the TCU Energy Club where we talk about ongoing issues in energy.

What’s your favorite place to eat in Fort Worth?
My current favorite place to eat is OMG Tacos. There are too many other taco places in Fort Worth that try to be snazzy. They worry about how good the taco looks, not really what’s in it.

What are three things on your bucket list?
Going to famous golf tournament like the Masters, going to a Super Bowl (only if the Cowboys are in it), and I want to surf a huge wave.
