Tenure-Track Assistant Professor Position in Strategic Communication The School of Strategic Communication in the Bob Schieffer College of Communication at Texas Christian University (TCU) in Fort Worth, Texas, invites applications for two full-time, tenure-track positions at the Assistant Professor level in the area of public relations and/or advertising to begin in the 2016-2017 academic year.  We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise and experience in building student understanding of strategy and integrated approaches. Applicants should be able to teach a variety of courses in our program including introductory and upper level courses. The successful candidate will teach some of the following courses: Advertising principles, PR principles, writing, research, campaigns, and case management. Strong relationships with the advertising and/or PR industry are highly desirable and at least two years of industry experience are required. Candidates must have a Ph.D. or be in the process of completing a Ph.D. in the area of public relations and/or advertising, or a related area. Candidates must demonstrate research potential and the ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in strategic communication. The normal full-time load is three classes one semester/two courses the second semester, along with commitments to school committees, advising and research. The Bob Schieffer College of Communication   The college, which is named for TCU alumnus and longtime CBS network TV correspondent Bob Schieffer, is the academic home for about 1,000 undergraduate students majoring in four departments (Communication Studies; Film, Television and Digital Media; Journalism; and Strategic Communication). More than 30 graduate students pursue master’s degrees in Communication Studies and Strategic Communication, and about 50 full-time and 25 part-time faculty teach in the college.
