FORT WORTH, Texas – October 25, 2016 – For the first time since becoming nationally-affiliated with the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA), Roxo was awarded ‘Best Tactic’ at this year’s PRSSA National Conference held in Indianapolis Oct. 21-23. Roxo won the award for its social media work with Tropical Smoothie Café in the spring of 2016. The goal of the social media plan was to drive traffic to the store and build company and brand awareness through implementation of an editorial calendar and creation of social media content. Tropical Smoothie Café saw an overall increase in social media engagement along with an increase in visitors to the store location after the plan was implemented. Roxo’s president and the account executive on the Tropical Smoothie account, Sydney Green, and Roxo VP of Communications, Caitlyn Rollins, attended the conference and accepted the award on behalf of the agency. “This is the first year that Roxo has been eligible to apply for this award, so it’s both exciting and humbling to receive ‘Best Tactic’ so soon after becoming nationally affiliated,” said Green. “Winning this award goes to show that Roxo is constantly producing some of the best work of any student agency across the nation.” The PRSSA Student-Run Firm Awards, including ‘Best Tactic’, ‘Best Strategy’ and ‘Best Firm’, recognize the most successful public relations work done by nationally affiliated student-run firms. Roxo is one of only 29 student-run firms that are nationally affiliated with PRSSA. To receive national affiliation, the firm must go through a lengthy application process to ensure they have a strong connection with their local Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) chapter and school PRSSA chapters, high levels of professionalism including ethics, accountability and outcome-drive approaches to work, and an organized structure. Roxo became nationally-affiliated at the beginning of 2016.
