Local agency and TCU students support local nonprofits with branding strategies and content

FORT WORTH, Texas (June 3, 2016) – A partnership between TCU’s Department of Strategic Communication and Fort Worth-based Immotion Studios has yielded three new communication initiatives for local nonprofits. The “Mission in Motion” collaboration was an outgrowth of the TCU Nonprofit Communicators Conference, which is held each May and organized by the strategic communication program.   TCU students worked over the past academic year to create new branding materials, strategies and messaging for two nonprofits. Students worked with BIND (Brain Injury Network of Dallas) and the Victory Therapy Center, a horse therapy organization that serves children and adults with disabilities.   Immotion Studios completed a new website that was launched this spring for the Ladder Alliance, which gives women who have been victims of domestic violence or low-income women the tools needed to lead independent and successful lives. The site may be found at http://ladderalliance.org/.   “Nonprofits need good storytelling and brand content in videos, on the web and in other digital spaces,” said Kristin Peaks, public relations and social media director for Immotion Studios. “All in all, we feel that Mission in Motion has been a huge success and we are very happy with the work that TCU has done with us for the partnership.”   After announcing the partnership last year at the TCU conference, Immotion Studios sponsored a competition for local nonprofits to win communication support. The first-place nonprofit received $8,000 worth of services from Immotion Studios. Two runners-up each received about 300 hours’ worth of work from master’s student Brooke Bailey, who worked with BIND, and from Roxo, TCU’s student-driven strategic communication agency.
