Lizzy Levine, a senior strategic communication major from Oahu, Hawaii, will be recognized as one of the “Most Promising Multicultural Students” for 2019 by the American Advertising Federation. The AAF’s Most Promising Multicultural Students Program connects the advertising industry with the nation’s top multicultural seniors. After a competitive application process of essays, letters of recommendation, resume, portfolio submissions and academic requirements, only 50 prestigious AAF students were selected.

Levine expresses, “As a multicultural student, it’s important to me that organizations promote and support diversity efforts. I love the message this award stands for and it’s evident AAF want us all to succeed.”

Since joining AAF in the fall of 2018, Levine was presented with the opportunity to apply for this award and engage with major industry resources to further advance her career in advertising. Along with 49 other students, Levine will receive an all-expenses paid trip to New York City to receive this award. She says, “The AAF is incredibly generous and I feel so fortunate to have a once-in-a-lifetime experience like this!” This award has allowed top advertising professionals to reach out to her to schedule meet-and-greets or interviews while she’s in NYC.

Previous TCU students who have received this honor include Kristi Cole in 2018, Stephen Rivera in 2016 and Nick Sena in 2015.

This prestigious event will take place in New York City from February 11th through the 14th. AAF will be hosting a series of workshops and networking events, along with the presentation of awards at the Building Bridges for Our Future Awards Luncheon. Some of the major partners and sponsors include Omnicom Group, Publicis, McCann, Turner and Wieden and Kennedy.

Levine graciously thanks TCU and her professors in the Strategic Communication department for always challenging and supporting her in all of her endeavors.

“I can’t believe this little Hawai’i girl is finding herself on a plane to NYC sponsored by AAF! I still haven’t wrapped my head around how incredible of an opportunity this is.I just feel so lucky!”

Each student must submit a personalized tagline or hashtag to highlight his or her skills and talents. Levine crafted #FierceAndFemale.

Levine will be taking over the Schieffer College’s Instagram story and sharing her experiences with AAF in NYC on Thursday, February 14th. Follow along with her experiences and meetings here: https://www.instagram.com/tcuschieffer/
