Class of 2022: Get to Know Molly Boyce

Name: Molly Boyce
Hometown: Amarillo, Texas
Major: Journalism

Why did you decidto come to Texas Christian University?
I would always come to TCU to visit my sister, who went here a few years ago. I liked the city of Fort Worth because of the size and could envision myself living here. The campus is beautiful, and the community made me feel so welcomed. There really isn’t any other college I’d rather go to.

Why did you decide to major in journalism?
During my first semester at TCU, I was undecided. I was really open to anything. I knew that I liked writing, but I wanted to do something different with it. When I came across journalism, I saw all the different pathways I could take and knew this would be a great fit for me.

What is your favorite aspect of the Journalism department?
One thing I’ve liked is how small the department is. I usually have the same people in my classes, and I’ve had the same professors multiple times. I’ve gotten to know a lot of my classmates, which makes my classes even better

What would be your dream job?
My dream job would be to work for a fashion magazine like Vogue. I want to be on the creative side of a company and do more media work.

What is your most memorable experience at TCU?
It would have to be when our football team beat the University of Texas last year. I went to the game and everyone in the stands was so into it. We were the underdogsso it was a great feeling to win.
