The Past and Future of Immigration Event

The Department of Journalism, along with the Mexico Center at Rice University’s Baker Institute for Public Policy and Rational Middle Immigration, will host “The Past and Future of Immigration” event at 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, 2019 in Moudy North, room 141. Guests will view a few short films and then a panel discussion will follow. Panelists include Dr. Melita Garza, associate professor of journalism in the Bob Schieffer College of Communication; Diana Greener, business development manager for Key Construction; Dr. Tony Payan, Françoise and Edward Djerejian Fellow for Mexico Studies and director of the Baker Institute’s Mexico Center; and freelance journalist Dianne Solis. Dr. Uche Onyebadi, associate professor and chair of journalism for the Schieffer College, will serve as moderator.
