Melita Garza, associate professor of journalism, presented a historical overview of the role of “alternative” media in U.S. society at the Dallas Historical Society last week. At the event, Garza joined fellow panelists, Patrick Washington and Robert Moore, to discuss the lasting impact of alternative media and media representation of marginalized communities.
