Roy Eaton graduated from the department of Journalism in 1959. He went on to work at a now extinct radio station, KXOL, with our namesake Bob Schieffer. While at KXOL the Fort Worth Stock Show asked him to announce the parades for judges. “Then, about 20 years ago, they decided that they would get some professional broadcast people to do the livestock shows. So I have done that ever since.”
If you have ever been to a rodeo at the Fort Worth Stock Show, you will recognize his voice easily. Last week the Junior Heifer Show superintendents showed their appreciation for Eaton by presenting him with a signed certificate. Click or tap here to read more at the Star-Telegram.
