Bob Schieffer ’59 interviews former Speaker of the House Paul Ryan.
As part of the 19th Annual Investment Strategies Conference at the Neeley School of Business, Bob Schieffer ’59 interviewed former Speaker of the House Paul Ryan. Schieffer asked Ryan about topics ranging from economics to politics. It wouldn’t be a visit with Schieffer at TCU without a mention of his purple socks. Ryan told Schieffer that he didn’t like his purple socks because they reminded him the Horned Frogs beat his “beloved” Wisconsin Badgers in the Rose Bowl. Schieffer said that while he had been changing his socks since TCU’s 2011 victory, they are always purple. Schieffer promised the football team that he would always wear purple socks if they won that game. And that’s why our college says, “we walk in purple socks.”
