Why did you decide to major in Communication Studies?
To be completely honest, I really wasn’t sure I wanted to be a communication studies major when coming to Texas Christian University. I knew I was good at speaking in front of people and thought I could easily switch if I needed to. However, as you can see, I never left!  

What is a common misconception about your major?
This really gets me heated. Communication Studies is challenging, especially at the beginning. I don’t think people realize that the major is challenging and allows students to choose from an array of jobs post-graduation.  

Have you studied abroad? 
Yes, I went to Granada, Spain, for five weeks. It was the best. None of us knew each other prior to the trip, but we all got super close. Now, I even babysit for the children of my professor who came on the trip with us. Overall, it forced me to be independent and go out of my comfort zone, which I know I will take into the future.  

What are you involved with on campus? 
I’m in Senseless Acts of Comedy, which is an on-campus improvisation group. I’m also the president of my sorority. These experiences have dramatically increased my confidence and sense of leadership. I have become a better speaker, as well as a better listener.   

What are your plans after graduation?
No plans yet. Job searching as we speak. My dream job is to be a Saturday Night Live actor.
