TCU Speech and Debate

TCU Speech and Debate is the competitive speech and debate team representing Texas Christian University.  As a comprehensive and academic program, we believe in the educational value of public oration and debate.  Team members compete in public address, oral interpretation, limited preparation speaking, parliamentary debate, and public debate.

  • We invite you to attend any of our public events, or to consider joining the team.
  • We host open auditions for new team members three times each year (August, November, April).

Lambda Pi Eta National Honor Society

Lambda Pi Eta is the official Honor Society for Communication Studies. It is a prestigious organization which recognizes, fosters, and rewards outstanding scholastic achievement in Communication Studies. High achieving students are invited to apply for membership each semester.
Qualifying students are inducted into Lambda Pi Eta in the Fall and Spring semesters in an elegant ceremony. Requirements for membership are:

  • Have completed 60 hours
  • Have completed 12 hours of coursework in the Communication Studies department
  • Have and maintain a 3.25 minimum GPA in COMM courses
  • Have and maintain a 3.0 minimum cumulative GPA

Instructor Carrie Moore is the faculty adviser.
