TCU Schieffer College alumna and Board of Visitors member Elizabeth Jenswold ‘89 recently hosted two dozen Schieffer students at JPMorgan Chase & Co.’s regional headquarters in Plano, Texas.

Jenswold, head of human resources for the chief administrative office in the commercial bank, gave students in Communication Studies Professor Johny Garner’s Organizational Communication class the opportunity to visit JPMorgan Chase’s 250-acre headquarters that will soon house 6,500 employees.

Students in the Organizational Communication class learned about the possibilities within human resources including recruitment aspects of JPMorgan Chase.

The goal of this trip was to provide students with valuable connections and learn about why JPMorgan Chase is growing their company.

Texas is home to more than 24,000 JPMorgan Chase employees and North Texas boasts more than 215 branches, serving over 3.4 million consumer customers and 272,000 businesses.

Aaron Harris, Schieffer College’s career consultant who accompanied the students on this trip, said that students were also able to develop professional contacts, gain an understanding of what climbing the ladder looks like, and how to approach career navigation when preparing for a job search.
