Student Athlete Tania Moreno Matveeva ’25

Tania Moreno from TCU Athletics.

Tania Moreno Matveeva ’25 knew when she came to TCU that she wanted to find a major that enhanced her skills on the court, but she wasn’t sure what that might look like.

From a young age, Moreno knew she was going to play volleyball — it was in her blood. Her mother, Olga Matveeva, played beach volleyball professionally, and her father, Juan Manuel Moreno, was her mother’s coach. But she didn’t realize the opportunities that would present themselves when she followed her doubles partner, Daniela Álvarez ’24, to TCU. Now, the pair are two of the record nine Horned Frogs competing in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
