FTDM Professor Kylo-Patrick Hart Analyzes Jim Morrison

FTDM professor Kylo-Patrick Hart’s chapter “Trapped: James Douglas Morrison and His Enduring Celebrity Persona” has been published in Disassembling the Celebrity Figure: Credibility and the Incredible, edited by Celia Lam, Jackie Raphael, and Millicent Weber. It demonstrates how The Doors’ lead singer became confined in a celebrity persona he no longer wished to call his own as his musical career progressed. The resulting pressures of Jim Morrison’s celebrity existence contributed substantially to the worsening of his addictions and self-destructive behaviors as well as his untimely death at the age of 27.
