What is your most memorable experience working within your major? My Creative Strategy group executed a campaign for Lighthouse for the Blind of Fort Worth, a local nonprofit that provides jobs and rehabilitation services to the unemployed blind community in the area. The semester long project required us to create a holistic campaign including creative briefs, public service announcements (PSAs), videos, print ads, outdoor ads, and a social media strategy. We had the privilege of going onsite to the Lighthouse to gather content first hand and interact with the community impacted by their work. At the end of the semester we had a client brunch and got to pitch the entire campaign to the executives from the Lighthouse.

How have the connections/ friendships you have made within your major help you pursue your dream job? I am currently interning at a digital advertising agency that I was connected to by a member of a former group project. His assistance helped me apply to the company, and I met other TCU students who work there as well which fosters a great community. My friends in the major pass on information about internships, opportunities, and advice as well which is incredibly helpful. Although advertising and public relations can be competitive fields, the people in this major are motivated and hardworking and more than willing to help those around them succeed as well.

If you could use three words to describe your major, what would they be? Motivated. Social. Firsthand.
