I fell in love once I stepped on campus and everyone I met was so friendly. I instantly knew this school would be the best fit for me in the long run.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What drew you to the Bob Schieffer College of Communication and the journalism program?<br \/>\n<\/strong>Since I am from Chicago, I had to do a lot of online research about the school and the program. The website was very informative and showed me real-life examples of what school would be like if I was a journalism student here. When I did come to visit, the professors that I met were very helpful in letting me know what college would be like if I was here and told me about the hands-on opportunities I would have.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What was your favorite journalism class?<br \/>\n<\/strong>Newscast was my favorite journalism class. I took it for two semesters and it allowed me to be hands-on and do things that I wanted to do in my future career. I was able to get feedback on all of my work which helped me become a better journalist. This class also gave me some of the best friends that I have today.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What made you decide to get involved with TCU360, the student-run news site?<br \/>\n<\/strong>I was involved with student media in high school so I knew that I wanted to continue this in college. I was a little nervous getting involved since this was a much larger audience than in high school, but being around other journalists was something I knew I wanted to be involved in. My favorite part of TCU360 has been the people I have met. I was able to lean on other staff members and my advisor to make me a better journalist.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What was the most memorable experience you had at TCU?<br \/>\n<\/strong>This is a really tough question to narrow down to one experience, but I was able to go live on Facebook and anchor the election show with another student from our Newscast class. It felt like a real-world experience and it was good practice for covering events in real time.<\/p>\n<p><strong>If you could, what advice would you give your first-year self?<br \/>\n<\/strong>I would emphasize to make the most of every situation and every experience.
