One of the most important factors prospective students have on determining the perfect college fit is the college community. From class size to university size, all these factors can intimidate or excite a student looking at a wide range of colleges. For over 8,000 students, TCU is the perfect fit because of its intimate class sizes and fiery school spirit. This perfect fit was just that for a fellow Horned Frog, Kate Redfield.<\/p>\n

Meet Kate Redfield, a San Francisco native, studying journalism at TCU. She decided on TCU after wanting to broaden her horizons outside the state she grew up in. \u201cI knew that\u00a0if\u00a0I wanted to be a good journalist\u00a0I would need to be well-rounded and TCU was a great fit because it is a major university with a small-school feel,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

In high school, Redfield worked for the school newspaper where she reported on school policies, politics, art, fashion and other subjects. The opportunities she had in high school continued as she found her home in the Journalism department at TCU. \u201cI started working for the News Now camera crew, wrote for TCU360 sophomore year, and am now the editor in\u00a0chief of Image Magazine.\u00a0Working my way up into roles\u00a0has\u00a0taught me a lot about the value of determination and\u00a0connecting\u00a0with the people in your department,\u201d Redfield said.<\/p>\n

Redfield continues to work toward her big dreams as a journalism major. \u201cI’ve always been a big dreamer and I am happy that after two years in the Journalism department, my goals and aspirations haven’t gotten any smaller,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
