{"id":1246,"date":"2024-06-03T14:21:53","date_gmt":"2024-06-03T19:21:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/schieffercollege.tcu.edu\/ftdm\/?post_type=student_work&#038;p=1246"},"modified":"2024-09-25T17:27:26","modified_gmt":"2024-09-25T22:27:26","slug":"class-of-2024-victor-torres","status":"publish","type":"student_work","link":"https:\/\/schieffercollege.tcu.edu\/ftdm\/student_work\/class-of-2024-victor-torres\/","title":{"rendered":"Class of 2024: Victor Torres"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today we conclude our profiles of the class of 2024 with senior\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/ACoAADnbGmIBJBmxhE1LgQxgGE8aYonLH-ni2Dk\" data-attribute-index=\"0\" data-entity-type=\"MINI_PROFILE\">Victor Torres<\/a>!<\/p>\n<p>Victor received a B.S. in Film, Television, and Digital Media, with minors in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tcu.edu\/academics\/programs\/creative-writing.php\">Creative Writing<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/cse.tcu.edu\/computer-science\/academics\/majors-minors.php\">Computer Science<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/finearts.tcu.edu\/art\/academics\/areas-of-study\/studio-art\/\">Studio Art<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>He says that he is \u201cextremely thankful to the professors in the FTDM department who made me who I am today. I am particularly grateful for the classes I\u2019ve gotten to take with\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/schieffercollege.tcu.edu\/faculty_staff\/richard-allen\/\">Richard Allen<\/a>. From his Introduction to Film Aesthetics class to his Directing Actors course, Prof. Allen has been an incredible mentor at TCU. I am also thankful to <a href=\"https:\/\/schieffercollege.tcu.edu\/faculty_staff\/charles-lamendola\/\">Professor Chuck LaMendola<\/a> for helping make my Honors Short Film &#8216;<a href=\"https:\/\/schieffercollege.tcu.edu\/ftdm\/news\/creating-the-coin-collector-qa-with-student-filmmaker-victor-torres\/\">The Coin Collector<\/a>&#8216; a reality.\u201d Victor presented this film as the <a href=\"https:\/\/honors.tcu.edu\/news\/2024\/victor-torres-tcu-departmental-honors-film-project.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">representative for the Bob Schieffer College of Communication at the Boller Competition in April<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Victor would also like to express \u201chow thankful I am to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/c\/TCUSFA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">TCU\u2019s Student Filmmakers Association<\/a>. SFA has become my family, and I\u2019ve made memories here that I\u2019ll cherish forever. I\u2019ve had the amazing opportunity of serving as president as well as a handful of other positions, and I couldn\u2019t be happier with how far we\u2019ve come as an organization. We\u2019re telling more unique and diverse stories than ever before, and it\u2019s thanks to the supportive community we\u2019ve built here that larger projects such as &#8216;The Coin Collector&#8217; have even become possible.\u201d We are proud of the accomplishments of our student filmmakers!<\/p>\n<p>After graduation, Victor will pursue a career in writing and development for film and television.<\/p>\n<p>Congrats, Victor!
