{"id":176,"date":"2017-01-23T16:43:54","date_gmt":"2017-01-23T16:43:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tcuschieffer.wpengine.com\/ftdm\/?page_id=176"},"modified":"2024-08-30T18:05:57","modified_gmt":"2024-08-30T23:05:57","slug":"ftdm-major","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/schieffercollege.tcu.edu\/ftdm\/academics\/areas-of-study\/ftdm-major\/","title":{"rendered":"FTDM Major"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>FTDM majors combine various production courses with offerings in critical studies and industry studies to prepare them for success in the competitive and increasingly global media industries.<\/p>\n<h2>Requirements<\/h2>\n<p class=\"sc-BodyText\">Students wishing to major in film, television and digital media must complete the following requirements for graduation.<\/p>\n<h3>University Requirements<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>A minimum of 120 semester hours is required to graduate from TCU. At least 42 semester hours must be earned at the 30000-level or above.<\/li>\n<li>All TCU students must complete the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/provost.tcu.edu\/faculty-resources\/core-curriculum\/core-curriculum-students\/\">Core Curriculum requirements<\/a>\u00a0as described elsewhere in the TCU catalog.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Department Requirements<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>A minimum of 37 semester hours in FTDM courses, including at least 12 hours at the 30000 level or above.<\/li>\n<li>A minor of at least 18 hours; all requirements of the minor department must be followed.<\/li>\n<li>A grade of &#8220;C&#8221; or better in all courses taken in the FTDM department.<\/li>\n<li>FTDM 10113 History of Broadcasting; FTDM 10123 History of Film;
