The FTDM Department at Texas Christian University offers students several study abroad programs to enhance their learning experience.\u00a0Majors and non-majors are welcome to enroll, and course prerequisites are waived for summer study abroad.<\/strong><\/p>\n

FTDM in Australia and New Zealand<\/strong><\/p>\n

This 3.5 week course runs in May or June and takes TCU students down under. Through this program, students will experience the film, television, and culture of Auckland, Melbourne and Sydney.<\/p>\n

TCU students can sign up for either 3 or 6 credit hours and earn upper-level analysis and industry credit that counts towards the FTDM major and minor. The program, which is typically offered through Film in a Global Society and Television, Culture and Society, also fulfills the Global Awareness and Writing Emphasis core curriculum components. All prerequisites for the courses will be waived, making it open to all TCU students \u2013 first-year students, sophomores, juniors, seniors, majors and non-majors.<\/p>\n

FTDM in London<\/strong><\/p>\n

Through this summer program, students experience the culture of Great Britain in the eclectic, exciting world of London. Students attend the theatre and visit museums and historical sites, take guided tours of the city, and see both British and international films.<\/p>\n

This four-week course runs in May or June each year. FTDM in Italy<\/strong><\/p>\n

While based in Rome, students explore one of the oldest cities in Western culture, investigate the history of Italian cinema, its influences on other cinemas and cultures, and how Italian culture is portrayed in Italian and American cinema. This program is designed to help students open themselves up to a different culture and includes family-style Italian dinners, tours of national museums, a day trip to Assisi and Perugia, the Cinecitta studios, and other opportunities that only Rome can offer.\"A<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
