“I had no idea what my future held when I first arrived on campus as a first-year student. I felt so behind applying as undeclared and had no clue what I wanted to pursue,” Andrea Wilemon said with a look of satisfaction on her face.

Wilemon thought she should have had her entire future planned out for her already. Not until she explored the Bob Schieffer College of Communication did she realize she had found her “perfect fit.” She finally chose to declare as a communication studies major because the career opportunities are unlimited and very diverse.

Wilemon believes choosing communication studies was the best decision she has made. The skills and opportunities the Communication Studies department has offered her has shaped who she is as a person today. “The public speaking skills and relationship building you do as a communication studies major are most important,” she said.

The biggest advantage Wilemon believes the Communication Studies department has offered her is that the skills she is perfecting and learning in class can be applied to her everyday life.
