If you were stuck on an island with any celebrity, who would it be?
My good friend Harry Lennix, an actor on The Blacklist. We met while studying at Northwestern
University for our undergraduate degree. If I’m going to be stuck on an island with someone, it
might as well be a friend!

What’s your guilty pleasure?
My guilty pleasure would be reading romance novels like Christmas in Paris by Anita Hughes.

What’s your favorite thing to teach?
I like to teach about where news, society, and culture intersect.

Three Questions for Christen Carter, Director of Digital Media, Journalism

If you were stuck on an island with any celebrity, who would it be?
Probably Pete Docter, director of Up, Inside Out, and Monsters Inc. because I bet he could tell
some really fun stories to keep us occupied on the island.

What’s your guilty pleasure?
I’m currently rewatching Gilmore Girls.

What’s your favorite thing to teach?
I love getting to teach about how to add interactivity to a news story and how to make it more
fun and interesting for audiences.
